Metal-clad gaskets are composite gaskets consisting of a non-metallic core material covered with a 0.25-0.5mm thick metal sheet using a specific cold-working process. They are typically classified into two types based on their cross-section: flat-type and corrugated-type. This is the most traditional type of sealing gasket. The metal sheet can be selected based on the material's elasticity, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. Common materials include brass, aluminum, mild iron, stainless steel, Monel alloy, and titanium. Non-asbestos core materials generally include asbestos rubber sheets, non-asbestos sheets, PTFE sheets, graphite composite sheets, and ceramic fiber sheets. Depending on the materials used, various forms can be created, such as 304 stainless steel-clad asbestos gaskets and stainless steel-clad graphite gaskets.
